Grassroots Yokai

Grassroots Yokai is a Lasers and Feelings hack set in the world of Touhou - specifically, the more slice-of-life scenario-based version in its manga and other print works. It’s played with a GM and 2-4 other players.

You’re a yokai - a weak yokai. Almost every other yokai (and even the odd human) is stronger than you - and while it’s generally downplayed, Gensokyo is a place where might makes right and the strong come out on top. In recent times, though, you’ve found strength in numbers. Being a “grassroots yokai” means that you’re part of a group of comrades and friends who look out for each other. It’s not much, but it’s enough to keep people from taking your metaphorical lunch money. That said, this sort of collective action isn’t very yokai-like… but it’s worth it if it means spending time with those you love.
